Hello world. My name is Sonia and since my friend introduced me to blogging, I’ve been thinking about getting on this thing and writing about what interests me and hopefully writing about something that interests all of you. I love animals so I thought I might gear this blog towards the discovery and extinction of animals. While discovery of a new species is an exciting step forward for our planet and humankind, the extinction and endangerment of any species trumps those advancements, causing us to step back and take a look at the reasons associated with the animals’ demise. In most cases, attributed to us humans. But I’ll get into that later.

A little bit about myself: I’m working on my PhD and currently assist with research projects at a major medical laboratory. I’m single but I date a lot. I’m actually seeing this guy right now but he’s never available. I’m a sucker for romance, but always find myself talking too much. But I take life in strides. I have thick skin and I’m not too sensitive.

By the way: ever since the West-African black rhino has been considered extinct, I’ve thought about how long it’s been on the planet and how that transcends all of us as a species because we weren’t even close to existence when they roamed and grazed much of Africa in healthy numbers. Anyway, food for thought.
